The Africa Cafe

The Africa Cafe

Such an amazing surprise when you come back to hotel after 6 hours walk, shopping and entertainment in Cape town,  then Your husband calls you for an astonishing traditional African dinner , drinks and dance 🙂 You can never say NO!

Since I have arrived in Cape town, I have found out that September weather is spring time here. Cool windy weather with shinning sunlight and natural grass smell make you feel like in heaven. Specially for me after this long time living in Dubai and in the middle of sand, heat and humidity. You want to sit on the street benches and watch the fresh life pass. So, How can you stay in hotel even when you are tired of a busy happy day?!!

The Africa Cafe was very close to our hotel so we got there in 7 minutes. Very cozy and warm atmosphere with traditional African handicraft makes your evening more pleasant. You will see the authentic cultural art and colors on the walls and decorations. The menu list is in a light jar and your appetizer and dinner are served in all rainbow African bowls and dishes. Africa Cafegetable seaweed soup was an amazing starter. Africa Cafassava bread is a baked tapioca flat bread with cheese. I tried Pinotage Red Wine, the traditional African wine and it was excellent. Malawi Mbatata cheese and Sim Sim balls are balls made of sweet potato + sesame and cheese. Xhosa Imifino Patties is fired spinach and maize. We had a lamb stew called “Mwana wa Nkhosa” and a chicken stew named “Malawi chicken macadamia” and many more dips and meals That I don’t remember the name, but the taste 🙂

What should I say about Broccoli salad: fresh blended broccoli + vegetables some nuts and lemon and honey dressing. Mozambican hot chili dip made my dinner. I mixed it with whatever I had, even Basmati rice.

You know, I don’t think you even remember the foods name after reading what I am writing 🙂 actually I love to know the name of whatever I eat and try, but If you cannot keep in your mind, you don’t lose anything! But the taste of the new experience will stay in your mouth and mind forever. You don’t forget the Live African dance by the restaurant staff  in the middle of the restaurant during your dinner. We spent such an amazing time there that I always want to go back there. The fabulous point for me was the gathering all what I needed to attempt in Cape town.

I bough a pack of 5 hand-made African designed candles, from the shop in the restaurant. It was a great time that I would love to share with you. Maybe you travel one day and would like to know. Have a wonderful day and night ever. Nastaran
